What type of grass seed do you recommend for my area?Updated 3 months ago

Cool Season Lawns (Tall Fescue & Kentucky Bluegrass)

  1. Envy Tall Fescue Blend Grass Seed, which is a premium seed suitable for cool season areas and also the transition zone. It demonstrates excellent tolerance to foot traffic, making it ideal for yards with pets or heavy use and also salt tolerance. Our Envy blend is particularly adept at withstanding hot environments, making it a wise choice for overseeding to attain a resilient and attractive lawn.  It also contains varieties for deep dark green color and disease tolerance.
  2. North Star Tall Fescue and Kentucky Bluegrass Blend for cooler areas needing both Kentucky Bluegrass and Tall Fescue.  It contains both 90% Envy blend and 10% 365S Kentucky Bluegrass.  The finest varieties of both lawn types.

Both blends germinate best in the fall and are great for aeration and overseeding or installing a new lawn.  If installing grass seed in the spring, do not apply any pre-emergent products before seeding.  Pre-emergent products will prevent the seed from germinating.

Warm Season Lawns (Bermuda, Zoysia, Centipede, & St Augustine)

  • Can be overseeded in the fall with Rye Grass Seed.
  • Do not apply pre-emergent herbicide if overseeding warm season lawns as pre-emergent will prevent seed from germinating.
  • Warm season lawns do not need to be seeded.  Bare areas in your lawn should be repaired with sod.
  • Warm season lawns will repair themself if nutrition is kept up correctly.
